Every school in the Waterloo Region District School Board has a library. School libraries receive instructional program and technical support from central staff in Information Technology Services. Information Technology Services also provides central libraries for staff and student instructional support.
Secondary School Libraries
Secondary school libraries are staffed by teacher-librarians. They have responsibility for all aspects of the instructional program, collection development, and library management.

Elementary School Libraries
Each elementary school receives program support from a Digital Literacy Support Teacher (DLST), focusing on leveraging technology for learning. The DLST is also responsible for promoting the role of the school library and its resources in supporting learning, and for library collection development and associated standards. The day-to-day operation of the library is the responsibility of the school’s library clerk. Procedural support is provided by IT Client Services.
